Nominations are being sought for the 2021 Award for Statistical Excellence in the Pharmaceutical Industry, jointly run by the RSS and Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PSI).
The aim of the award is to recognise an outstanding level of influence in the application of an existing statistical practice, or an innovation, that has strengthened the quality and efficiency of investigations in the pharmaceutical industry. Nominees can be based anywhere in the world and do not need to be a member of PSI or the RSS. The award will be presented at the PSI AGM in July.
Last year's winner was Dr Sandeep M Menon, senior vice president and head of early clinical development at Pfizer, for 'Influential Quantitative Leadership in several domains in Early Clinical Development - creating a culture of quantitative decision making within a major pharmaceutical company'.
Stian Westlake, RSS chief executive, said: ‘We’re delighted to partner with PSI on this award to highlight and celebrate the important role statistics plays in pharmaceutical innovation.’
'Making a nomination is a great way of recognising the achievements of the nominee, whilst enhancing the reputation and benefit of statistics within the pharmaceutical industry,’ commented, Kate Tsirtsonis, membership and community director of PSI.
