We are accepting entries for our 2025 Award for Statistical Excellence in Trustworthiness, Quality & Value, awarded in partnership with the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) and Civil Service World.
Now in its sixth year, the award recognises excellence in the voluntary application of the “pillars” of Trustworthiness, Quality & Value (TQV) that stand at the heart of OSR’s Code of Practice for Statistics.
The award has seen winners from a variety of different organisations, with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) winning last year for what is thought to be the first dashboard of its kind on fertility treatments and outcomes. The UK Health Security Agency was also highly commended for its dashboard on respiratory viruses.
Commenting on the award launch, RSS CEO Dr Sarah Cumbers, said: ‘Trustworthiness, Quality, and Value are all about putting users first in the production of statistics, and it has been fantastic to highlight, over the years, the breadth of organisations committing to these principles through this award.’
Ed Humpherson, director general for regulation at OSR, added: ‘This award is an important annual milestone in our Voluntary Application activities, that continually pushes the merits and benefits of TQV for a growing community committed to serving their wider user’ audiences.’
Baroness Onora O’Neill of Bengarve, whose work inspired the award commented: ‘This award continues to benefit statistics and data at large, helping to support the public and positively influence our ability for informed societal debate.’
