This year, the RSS will celebrating Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June 2021) by sharing stories about RSS volunteers and the excellent work they are doing for the Society.
Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration where organisations recognise the efforts and contributions volunteers make to organisations and communities across the UK.
Here is a summary of some of the RSS volunteers’ achievements:
- Volunteers for Statisticians for Society have spent more than 1,500 hours supporting small charities.
- We have more than 300 volunteers supporting various RSS committees and groups
- Our section and local groups have produced over 70 events with over 45 moving to online to accommodate lockdown.
We've also gathered together profiles of just some of our volunteers, which you can read about on our volunteer profiles page.
During the course of Volunteers' Week, we'll be sharing other members' experiences of volunteering their time with the Society on Twitter. Follow the hashtag #VolunteersWeek from 1 June to read about what other organisations are doing to celebrate their volunteers.
