Professor Aurore Delaigle has been appointed to succeed David Dunson as Joint Editor of Series B of the journal for the period 2020–2022.
Aurore Delaigle graduated from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, with a degree in mathematics followed by a doctorate in statistics on kernel estimation in deconvolution problems. After receiving a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Davis, she joined the University of California, San Diego as an assistant professor, where she was awarded a Hellman fellowship.
After a spell as a reader in the School of Mathematics, University of Bristol, she moved to the University of Melbourne, where she has been a full professor since 2014. She was awarded the Moran Medal of the Australian Academy of Sciences in 2013, for her contribution to ‘contemporary statistical problems’, and the Snedecor award in 2017, and she was an Australian Research Council Future Fellow, 2013–2018.
As well as being a member of the Society, Aurore is a fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the American Statistical Association. She is particularly well known for her work on non-parametric statistics, measurement error problems and functional data analysis and deconvolution.
