Remit
To achieve this remit, the SIG will focus on the organisation of a diverse programme of accessible events such as talks, networking events, and professional activities (e.g. Wikipedia edit-a-thons), both face-to-face and online, which correspond to key events throughout the year (e.g. International Women’s Day, Pride month, etc).
Work with other sections and local groups in order to maximise impact and be as diverse and inclusive as possible, we will liaise with other Sections and Special Interest Groups within the Society (e.g., YSS and History of Stats) as well as other external associations (e.g. JEDI or the international Caucus for Women in Statistics), building up on previous successful collaborations (e.g., the International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science (IDWSDS)).
The SIG will also work to maximise its impact and engagement by using different channels of communication and activities in different formats, which might include social media competitions, online edit-a-thons, and hybrid talks.
