Profile

I hold a PhD degree in Statistics from the Premier University in Nigeria, University of Ibadan, popularly called U.I. I have over 20 years of teaching and research experience in U.I and other universities in Africa. I am a network member of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) based in Nairobi, Kenya. I have been a Visiting Scholar to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and also an Exchange Visitor to Virginia Tech in USA. I coordinate the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis [UI-LISA] in the Department of Statistics, U.I. Presently, I serve as the National Vice President 2 of the Nigerian Statistical Association.

Background

I have been a principal investigator in a number of funded research projects. For instance, modelling inflation process in Nigeria was a project funded by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and completed in 2008. The Centre for Econometric and Allied Research (CEAR) based in U.I where I am a Senior Research Fellow provides consultancy services to the Central Bank of Nigeria under a special collaborative arrangement. The team of experts from the two institutions including myself have developed macroeconometric models for the Nigerian economy for the use of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the apex bank.

Specialisms

My area of specialization is econometric analysis and macroeconometric modelling. I have proficiency in formulating models for policy analysis, simulations and forecasting using popular packages like EViews, TSP and Stata.
