RSS launches Members' Week 2026 programme

The RSS Members’ Week 2026 programme is now available, offering members a week of online events, networking opportunities and exclusive content celebrating the contributions of statisticians across the Society. This year’s theme, Influence, explores the many ways statistical expertise shapes policy, practice and decision-making.

This year’s programme include:

• New Fellows Event 2026 (9 November) - a welcome event for newer members, featuring insights from RSS leaders and members on making the most of Society membership.

• Influencing Change: From Volunteering to Policymaking (10 November) - showcasing how the Statisticians for Society initiative has helped drive policy impact through volunteer-led projects.

• The future of statistics in AI regulation (12 November) - exploring the role of statisticians in the governance and regulation of artificial intelligence.

• The Power of Statistical Influence: How award-winning statistical research shapes policy, practice and lives (13 November) - featuring award-winning statisticians discussing how their work has influenced policy and improved lives.

Alongside the events programme, Members’ Week will feature new online content celebrating the achievements, expertise and impact of RSS members. We look forward to bringing members together throughout the week to recognise our vibrant community and showcase the many ways statistics continues to make a difference.
