RSS Conference: Ruth King completes keynote speaker line up

We’re pleased to announce Professor Ruth King (pictured above, top centre) has been confirmed as the final keynote speaker for the RSS 2020 Online Conference that takes place this September. She joins an impressive line-up of keynote speakers that includes (as shown in the above photo, clockwise from top left) Sir David Spiegelhalter, Ruth King, Sir Ian Diamond, Byron Morgan, Angela Saini and Mark Girolami.

Ruth is the Thomas Bayes’ chair of statistics in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. She holds a Leverhulme Research fellowship and is a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. Her current roles include president of the International Biometrics Society: British and Irish Region, and deputy director of the National Centre for Statistical Ecology. 

Her research interests focus on developing new statistical methodology and associated techniques for analysing data particularly within the application areas of ecology and public health.
