We are delighted to announce that contracts have now been exchanged on the purchase of 142 Southwark Bridge Road, marking an important milestone in the Society's future. This follows site visits from RSS staff and trustees, and approval from RSS Council on completion of the legal work required.
Following our departure from Errol Street last year, we are thrilled to have secured a new permanent home for the RSS. This is an exciting moment for the Society and the beginning of a new chapter, creating a space that will support our growing membership, staff and volunteer community for many years to come.
Work has already begun on redesigning the interior, and we are carefully considering the needs of members, volunteers, staff and the wider statistical community to ensure the building reflects how the RSS works, learns, collaborates and connects.
The new home will feature a large, adaptable events space with flexibility to accommodate seating for lectures, talks and other gatherings. It will also include meeting rooms and social spaces for smaller events and networking opportunities, alongside modern facilities and functional, up-to-date office space for RSS staff.
With work well underway, we are looking forward to bringing the vision to life and welcoming members and visitors through the doors. We expect to move into our new home during the first quarter of 2027 and will share further updates as the project progresses.
