RSS and stats regulator seek nominations for Code of Practice award

We are now accepting entries for our 2024 Award for Statistical Excellence in Trustworthiness, Quality & Value, awarded in partnership with the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) and Civil Service World.

Now in its fifth year, the award recognises excellence in the voluntary application of the “pillars” of Trustworthiness, Quality & Value (TQV) that stand at the heart of OSR’s Code of Practice for Statistics.

The award has seen winners from a variety of different organisations, with data science company, Fable Data, winning last year for their work producing pro bono datasets for the creation of new economic indicators.

Commenting on the award launch, RSS CEO Dr Sarah Cumbers, said: “Many organisations go above and beyond to voluntarily apply the Code of Practice in their work, and they play a vital role in ensuring that the data underpinning our daily lives is robust and of public value. I look forward to another year of fantastic entries.”

Ed Humpherson, director general for regulation at OSR, added: “This award is now firmly established and I look forward to seeing entries that demonstrate strong evidence of TQV, with real emphasis on how the Code’s principles are directly benefitting wider user audiences.”

Read the criteria and download the entry form. The deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday 21 April 2024.
