Data Science and AI Section seeks new committee member

The Data Science & AI Section of the Royal Statistical Society was formed to address emerging topics that will impact the long-term success of data science as a profession. They organise and deliver an annual programme of events and activities that push forward the debate around opportunities and challenges posed by data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

For the 2022 committee, the section would particularly welcome expressions of interest from female professionals working in the field of data science and AI.  As a committee member, you will work with the rest of the committee to plan and deliver the section’s events and activities.  The section holds regular committee meetings during the year, which can be attended remotely via Microsoft Teams, or in person at Errol Street, London (travel expenses will be reimbursed), however much of their core business is conducted over email.

If you are interested, please contact Trevor Duguid Farrant at datasciencesection@rss.org.uk by Thursday 30 October 2021, with a paragraph (up to 200 words) summarising your background, why you want to join and topics you want to explore through events.  Please note that you will need to be a fellow of the RSS to take up a position.

The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
