Cathie Marsh lecture to focus on surveys

One of the Society's key annual events, the Cathie Marsh memorial lecture, will take place in person on 23 November 2021, 5.30-7pm. at the Royal Statistical Society in Errol Street, London.

Titled: 'Back to normal or a new normal? Gold standard surveys post-Covid', the talk will feature four speakers, including the National Statistician, Sir Ian Diamond (pictured), looking at the survey world, post-Covid.

Named in honour of the inspirational social researcher, statistician and outstanding social survey analyst, the Cathie Marsh memorial lecture is a long-running annual event. Organised by the Society's Social Statistics Section with the Social Research Association, it regularly attracts an audience of practising social researchers, statisticians, policy-makers and advisors.

This year, Sir Ian Diamond will be joined by Kelly Beaver of Ipsos MORI Public Affairs, Craig Watkins of Kantar Public and Guy Goodwin of the National Centre for Social Research. The talks will be followed by questions and discussion and a drinks reception sponsored by Ipsos MORI.

Please note that there are very limited spaces so we recommend that you register early for the lecture to avoid disappointment. A recording will be made available shortly afterwards on our YouTube channel, where you can also watch previous Cathie Marsh memorial lectures.
