New RSS reviews editor required

Allan Reese is retiring as the reviews editor for Series A of the RSS journal and Significance.

Suggestions or nominations are therefore encouraged and welcomed from members of the Society. The position is not greatly taxing for someone with the right skills, and no particular academic qualifications are required for it: youth and energy are as equally valid as age and experience.

However, in this digital era, the editors are eager to expand the role from just co-ordinating the review process for books to develop it into also promoting and encouraging the reading of the Society’s journal and magazine articles through the use of social media to raise the profile and visibility of the publications further.

Hence a love and enthusiasm for using these techniques are essential. Although knowing the statistical interests of people in a wide range of fields would be advantageous, to assist in both aspects of the position, a small group of advisors may be established.

If you are therefore interested in performing this valuable service for the Society, for up to a maximum of four years, please contact Martin Owen at the Society (email: journal[at]rss.org.uk) by 30 June 2020, with some brief relevant details about yourself.

Any queries in connection with this editorship should be directed to Martin.
