*Until December 2024, get an introductory discount of £5 off the prices marked with * when signing up to pay annually or quarterly by Direct Debit (DD).  DD is available on UK bank accounts only.

We recognise that members in EDA countries are unable to take up the DD offer, so we have further discounted rates for members in EDA countries and those not earning a salary as part of our strategy to support members, focusing on inclusivity and diversity.  The further DD discount does not apply for the concessionary career break/EDA subscription rate.

Additional journals
All fellows (including professional member grades) receive one journal series free of charge as part of the membership fee.  Additional journals can be subscribed to at an extra £45 per journal series.

Data Analyst membership
To gain Data Analyst status, you will need to join us as a fellow first and then apply to upgrade to Data Analyst in MyRSS, when you will be asked to pay a one-off fee of £50 (£75 from 01 January 2025).

CStat and GradStat membership
To gain CStat or GradStat certification, you will need to join us as a fellow first. You can then apply to upgrade your membership from within My RSS.  If your application is successful, we will automatically upgrade your membership for free. When renewing, the GradStat or CStat fee will then be applied.

Data Science Professional and Advanced Data Science Professional
The DSP and AdvDSP certificates can be held in addition to all grades of fellow membership (fellow, Data Analyst, GradStat and CStat).  You can apply for either certificate when joining for the first time, or can upgrade later via My RSS.

Please contact membership@rss.org.uk if you would like to know more.

Concessionary Fees
Concessionary fees are available to:

  • Students – those in full-time higher education or undertaking a full- or part-time PhD.
  • New graduates – those who have graduated within the last two years. The concessionary rate will apply for five years from the point of joining.
  • Retired – for those who are retired from full-time employment and do not have an earned income of over £12,500 per annum (not including any income from pensions or savings).
  • Economically developing areas (EDAs) – for those who are located in EDA countries as defined by the RSS.
  • Career break – for existing members who are not currently earning a salary.
