While most organisations recognise data quality as a serious problem, rarely do they go beyond short-term “data cleaning” to find and address the root causes of poor quality data. This provides an enormous opportunity for practitioners and research statisticians alike to demonstrate how to improve data quality at the source. By holding this (very timely) conference, we hope to help form a community of practitioners and researchers with an interest in exploring the many aspects of data quality.
