Teaching resources and case studies for critical thinking project

Teachers of statistics may be interested in a recently completed project carried out by The Geographical Association (GA) and Association for Science Education (ASE) and funded by the Department for Education.

The Critical Thinking for Achievement project provided free CPD for primary and secondary teachers of geography and science, to help students to think critically about the use of data and construction of evidenced arguments to raise achievement in geography and science. Several teachers subsequently chose to focus their projects on using data in the classroom and ways of ‘using data better’.

The project has recently closed, but a plethora of resources, case studies and further reading on teaching critical thinking can be downloaded from geography.org.uk/critical-thinking.
