Deadline extended: STEM for Britain 2019 parliamentary event: Call for entries

The Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, organisers of STEM for Britain 2019, are now inviting abstracts for next year's event, which takes place in Parliament on 13 March 2019, as part of British Science Week 2019.

As in previous years, early career mathematicians in all branches of the mathematical sciences are invited to take part in this major scientific competition and exhibition in Parliament.

This is the largest STEM researchers / politicians event in the UK. In addition to researchers having the opportunity to win the £2,000 gold prize, £1,250 silver prize or £750 bronze prize, it is a chance to show parliamentarians the enormous importance and strength of the mathematics sciences in the UK.

Details for entrants are at http://www.setforbritain.org.uk/index.asp and prizes will be awarded for the posters presented in each discipline that best communicate high level science, engineering or mathematics to a lay audience. The Westminster Medal for the overall winner will be awarded.

The closing date for entries has been extended to extend to Friday 4th January 2019, at 5pm. There will be an initial selection by the judges and you will be informed by the end of January 2019 whether or not your application to take part in the exhibition has been successful.

Details of the event are now available at: http://www.setforbritain.org.uk/2019event.asp
