New stats web community for students and lecturers

Black Swans is a new website/community forum for statistics students and lecturers to connect and discuss all things stats. Named after Nassim Taleb's book, blackswans.io was created by Jack Dry, a fourth-year student at the University of St Andrews.

To join the community, users need to create an account (with optional profile picture and short bio). Users are encouraged to post about 'anything that somehow relates to statistics and isn’t an advert. Perhaps you’ve been stuck on a tutorial question for the past hour and want someone to shed some light on it. Or maybe you’re building a neural network to predict football scores and want to find others who might be interested in collaborating with you. It could even be that you'd like to share some mind-blowing results from your research.' The site also features a regular puzzle plus interviews with the likes of Tim Harford and Ken Cukier.

Users can sign up for a weekly round-up of the latest posts or follow its Instagram account.
