Resources for teachers
The Royal Statistical Society supports the teaching of statistics in a number of different ways:
We offer
free e-teacher membership
of the RSS to all primary and secondary school teachers across the
world
.
We support the
Maths teacher training scholarship programme
We support the British Council’s
Connecting classrooms through Global Learning
programme
We offer a set of
Hands-on Statistics
materials to engage students at science and careers festivals.
Our
Education Policy Advisory Group (EPAG)
works on influencing education policy via consultation responses and other contributions.
We created a
Teaching Statistics special interest group
(SIG)
in 2019 to provide a platform to collate and disseminate ideas and best practice in the teaching of statistics.
To support teachers and parents educating young people while they are at home, STEM Learning has developed a range of materials, including free resources, tips from subject experts and professional development opportunities at
stem.org.uk/home-teaching
(for teachers) and
stem.org.uk/home-learning
(for parents).
We support I'm a Mathematician Stay at Home, an online STEM engagement activity for school students to engage with mathematicians, teachers and each other, for students to be inspired by maths.
School teachers across the UK can take part at
