For the past two years, the RSS Statistics in Sport Section has run successful prediction competitions for Wimbledon 2022 and Euro 2020. Now, with the FIFA Women's World Cup starting on 20th July 2023, our focus is back on football!
 
The goal of the prediction competitions are for teams or individuals to make probabilistic predictions of the outcome of every game in a particular tournament, before the tournament begins (full details can be found here).
 
To celebrate the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 and launch this year's prediction competition, we are pleased to welcome our speakers, Rouven Michels and Marius Ötting, who will outline their work on modelling women's football scores.
