This event aims to shine a light on some of the less well-known career options which are open to statisticians - we will have speakers from a variety of industries including construction, transport and food who will share the story behind their career and their day-to-day job.

Are you currently undertaking (or considering) a degree in statistics and beginning to wonder what sort of career options are out there for you? Are you a statistician who is considering a change of direction in your career? You may be familiar with some of the most common career routes for statistics graduates, but in fact there are a number of statisticians hiding in plain sight in industries where you wouldn't expect them.

This event is an opportunity for you to hear from these "Secret Statisticians" about their chosen careers, how they got there and how they use the skills from their statistics degree on a day-to-day basis. We have speakers from a variety of backgrounds including construction, transport and food, who will aim to inspire you to realise that there are no limits to what you can do with a statistics degree.

This event will be held online and will run from 1pm-2:30pm. It will consist of a series of talks followed by a Q&A session with the speakers at the end. The event is open to statisticians of all backgrounds and career stages, and audience participation is encouraged (but optional!).
