Abstract:
In this talk, I will present some mathematical models to describe the diffusion of Covid-19 epidemic and some methods for the analysis of related data developed within both classical and Bayesian frameworks. Different aspects will be addressed, e.g. modeling, simulation, estimation, forecast. Some results obtained by applying the mathematical models and methods to Covid-19 data in Italy will be shown. Biography Giovanni Sebastiani is a Senior Researcher at Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo ”M. Picone” in Rome and Professor II at Department of Mathematics and Statistics of University of Tromsoe. He received his degree in Physics from the University of Rome and his Doktor Phil. degree in Mathematics from the University of Trondheim. His research experience is concerned with the application of Mathematics and Statistics in Medicine and Seismology, and the development and theoretical analysis of stochastic algorithms for Bayesian inference and combinatorial optimization.
