Conference Venue


Venue
The RSS 2021 International Conference will take place at the Manchester Central venue in Manchester city centre.

The venue is surrounded by a vibrant cultural and social scene, with many restaurants and more than 2,500 hotel bedrooms within a five-minute walk.

The city-centre location and on-site car park means the venue is easy to reach, however you chose to travel, with good connections via bus or tram from the Manchester's rail stations.

The conference welcome reception will take place at Manchester Hall and the conference dinner at Manchester Cathedral.
 
Accommodation
Accommodation bookings for the conference are being handled by an accommodation agency who have organised rooms in a range of hotels.

Bookings should be made via the online portal [not yet live]. You are advised to book your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note: the RSS Conference Office is unable to respond to queries about hotel bookings. Any queries should be directed to the contact details on the booking page.
 
Travelling to Manchester

By road:
Manchester is at the heart of a comprehensive motorway network. Manchester's M60 orbital motorway provides easy access from north, south, east and west.

If using a satellite navigation system - please follow the postcode M2 3GX.

By air:
Manchester Airport is a major international hub just nine miles (14.5km) from the city centre. It serves more than 200 destinations worldwide including direct routes to nine US cities. From the airport, the city is approximately 25 minutes away by taxi or just 20 minutes via the half-hourly express rail service (tickets £3-4).

By train:
Manchester has direct connections to most major UK cities. It takes a little over two hours to reach Manchester from London and just over three hours from Glasgow. Services arrive at Piccadilly or Victoria stations where passengers can connect with Metrolink trams for easy access to the city centre. Manchester Central is a 20-minute walk from Piccadilly Station or just five minutes by taxi. Alternatively, catch a connecting train to Oxford Road Station - five minutes from Manchester Central on foot.
