The joint editors of
Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A (Statistics in Society) are seeking associate editors for a four-year term starting in January 2025.
We are particularly looking to cover the following areas:
- Causal inference
- Survey sampling/methodology
- Survival analysis
- Latent variable modelling
- Quantile regression
- Bayesian modelling
- Health economics
- Hierarchical data models
The editors will consider all members of the Society that nominate themselves or others to the vacant positions. We also aim to increase our inclusiveness of underrepresented groups within academia.
About the journal
Series A looks at how innovative statistical thinking, design, methods and analyses play a vital role in all walks of life and benefit society. For example, medicine and biomedical sciences, business and commerce, industry, economics and finance, education and teaching, the law, government and politics, demography, psychology, sociology and sport all fall within its remit.

The role
Associate editors are appointed for four-year periods and usually have a workload of no more than 10-12 new papers per year.
